Super-luxury yacht, 110 meters long, includes a stop in Šibenik on its Adriatic itinerary.
It looks like a mega yacht, it’s registered as a mega yacht, but it sails like a cruiser. And not just any cruiser, but a luxurious mini cruiser with a capacity of 100 passengers and 72 crew members. This Asian beauty, built in a Vietnamese shipyard in Halong Bay, is 110 meters long, and every part of it is designed for the maximum enjoyment and comfort of its guests. Intimacy and privacy on this vessel are provided by 50 cabins spread across four of its seven decks, while the remaining three are reserved for a chill ambiance. This luxury vessel does not have any facilities for children, which means the Emerald Azzura is adults-only.
It is owned by Emerald Cruises, which has 9 river cruise ships in its portfolio that sail along the major rivers of Europe, Russia, and Asia. However, due to the continuous growth in demand for cruising, the company decided to expand its offerings to include ocean cruises. For this purpose, two super-luxury yachts were commissioned, one of which is the Emerald Azzura, and its sister ship, the Emerald Sakura, whose maiden voyage is expected to begin in early 2023.
Emerald Cruises was founded in 2013 and is part of the Australian Scenic Group, owned by Australian entrepreneur and millionaire Glen Moroney. The Scenic Group has enriched its portfolio of luxury river cruises with the most attractive tours in the Arctic, Antarctic, and Norwegian fjords aboard its most famous vessel, the Scenic Eclipse, a polar cruiser built in the Uljanik shipyard in Pula.
Emerald Azzura belongs to the mini cruiser category, meaning that the guests aboard are of higher financial means and accustomed to a high standard and service quality. For the price they pay for a cruise, they enjoy the privilege of docking in lesser-known ports and smaller towns, where they can experience the true ambiance of the destination as soon as they step off the ship.
Emerald Azzura has chosen the port of Dubrovnik as its homeport, further confirming Croatia’s attractiveness as a cruising destination. It is particularly appealing to mini cruisers, who, unlike their larger counterparts, are the direction in which Croatia should focus as a cruising destination.
